17th annual Big prize of Barbora - European cup FIS/UNI

Throughout the 9th and 10th of February, 17th annual Big prize of Barbora - European cup FIS/UNI 2019 was held in ski center Bačova Roveň in Vyšná Boca.

 

91 racers attended giant slalom – 31 women and 60 men from Slovakia, Czech republic, France, Poland, Estonia and New Zealand. Excellent mood was ensured by music band Necpalanka. Rankings  - women: 1. Nikola Bubáková (CZE, 1:57.78), 2. Kristína Saalová (SVK, 1:58.06), 3. Klára Kasparová (CZE, 1:59.71). Rankings - men: 1. Jan Rechtenber (CZE, 1:53.70), 2. Joffrey Vanheule (FRA, 1:54.15), 3. Jan Nemec (CZE, 1:54.96).

84 attendees raced in slalom category - 34 women and 50 men. Excellent mood was again ensured by music band Necpalanka.. Rankings - women: 1. Julia Wlodarczyk (POL, 1:42.49), 2. Monika Zemanová (CZE, 1:42.60), 3. Klára Kašparová (CZE, 1:42.95). Rankings - men: 1. Joffrey Vanheule (FRA, 1:38.40), 2. Vladimír Širan (SVK, 1:38.60), 3. Thibault Paoly (FRA, 1:39.31). Winners were Joffrey Vanheule and Kristína Saalová.

The oldest attendee of 17th annual Big prize of Barbora - European cup FIS/UNI 2019 – was, soon to be 90 years old, Vilém Podešva (CZ), who has been active skier from his young age. Prizes were handed out by Vlastimír Tréger (director of the competition), Olga Křížová - Charvátová (main referee, former skier – olympic medalist), Ing. Stanislav Gurský (chairman of organization team) and Mr. Vilém Podešva. A warm congratulation to the winners! We hope to see you next year, friends!
